When I scan my transparencies, with a Minolta DiMage Scan Dual III, I use the adobeRGB color space. While working with one of these scans (images) in Photoshop Elements 2 the image looks GREAT. But viewing the image with any other software the image is DARK! Way darker than when viewing with Photoshop Elements 2.

What am I doing wrong?

I suspect William, that the other applications are not color managed apps. You will find that non colormanaged applications don’t "view" your images the same as Elements or Photoshop . The only thing I can think of that you might do, is recalibrate your display ( Adobe Gamma Utility on a Windows box ) .
