When loading some jpegs from a Website, the color displayed in PSE2 is markedly less saturated and perhaps more yellow.

In some plug-ins, however, the "correct" color is displayed, as originally displayed in my browser and ACDSee.

This does not affect all jpegs. Just some.

Any ideas?

Have you ever calibrated your monitor? Often when people notice color shifts in images opened in Elements but they don’t see the same thing in other apps it means you need to do some calibration. Elements is probably the only color managed app you’ve got installed on your computer – ACDSee sure isn’t.

You may also need to try the ignore exif fix from Adobe.com.

Beth:

Thanks for the suggestion. I do calibrate my monitor with a colorimeter every three weeks or so, and I have done it recently. As a result, I don’t use Adobe gamma in my startup.

The question isn’t which display is correct (browser or PSE2) but why on only this one set of jpegs is the display so different? PSE2 is reading something encoded into this particular batch of jpegs (no EXIF info encoded that I could find) and rendering it quite differently. It may well be that PSE2 is rendering it more "correctly" but it still looks unacceptable when edits are viewed in any other graphics application.

Where can I get that fix, Richard?

It sounds like a good one to have, though in this case the images appeared to have been scanned from paper and I don’t see any EXIF info at all.
