Is there an export of some kind in Photoshop8, that will take a shadow (working path) and merge a clipping path with it?
(maybe someone knows about a transparency filter) that
can do this?

i’m doing some testing… i have a ps image, that has 1 clip path (monitor), 2 working paths (shadows) the shadow working path isn’t part of the clipping path, is there a way to import this image into Quark, place a colored background, behind this image, and somehow, get all paths to show? Not just the clipping path…
does this make sense?

No Quark does not support transparency.

do yourself a favor get rid of Quark and start using InDesign.

You don’t even need clipping paths with InDesign just bring the .psd with trasparent background directly into ID. You can even add dropshadows to objects with ID.

Transparency is not easy for beginners in Quark.
(has been there for a very long time)
