I bought an instructional DVD that includes presets for brushes, smudge tool, eraser and others. They act like brush tool presets but have the suffix .tpl instead of .abr. They can’t be loaded through the Load Brushes dialog but instead through the Tool Presets tab. They go in Presets>Tools instead of Presets>Brushes.
My question: what’s a "tool" as opposed to a brush or brush set, and why would anyone prefer to set things up that way?
