I am sure there must be a way of changing the color of the various patterns and textures that come with the pattern stamp tool but I can’t figure it out or find it in any manual. All I can get is the color, or lack thereof, from the sample. Surely all those wonderful textures can be changed to other colors.

You could try stamping on a new layer, then adjusting hue/saturation (or clourizing) directly or with an adjustment layer.

You can also pick a new color from the color picker anytime by clicking in the foreground color box at the bottom of the Tool Panel.

I’d don’t think there is a way to colorize the patterns apart from selecting the area with the pattern and creating a new layer above it with your color. Then you would adjust your opacity and/or select a blend mode.

You may be able to create your own custom pattern and color but I don’t know if that is possible.

I’m going to try and see if I can do it.
