I had asked for help here previously because I couldn’t get even close to a good print with my Epson 1280 without making a custom profile. I tried some very expensive calibration software which wouldn’t install and finally found the EasyRGB-PC program: www.easyrgb.com , downloaded the FREE version and was immediatly able to calibrate my Viewsonic monitor. (The online version didn’t do the trick.) Then I needed a good color swatch and found one at:
<http://www.pacificnet.net/~johnr/adobe.html> . With a screen capture of that image saved I printed it using several different choices with the Epson Printer and happily found that my "magenta" problem had gone away. (Before this proper calibration I had had to subtract 10 step of magenta with a custom profile.)
So, if your having calibration problems try EasyRGB-PC. I am not affiliated with this company at all … just thought I’d report on a problem solved.
