A loud rat-a-tat-tat was heard as Loup Looney rattled the keyboard at blinding speed and wrote:
I have photo shop 7 and was wondering does the camera raw plugin work on this version and if so does anyone know where i can get it

Adobe, in their wisdom, removed it from their product range within hours of releasing Photoshop CS (version 8). One way around the issue is to use a free product called ‘irfanview’ to browse the directory of images. Then you copy the image you wish to edit to the clipboard. Open Photoshop and create a new image.
Alternatively, a product known as ‘Photographers Power Tools’ can bulk convert camera raw images to TIFFs or JPGs with ease. Old versions of Photoshop can then open the files. Canon hi-res jpg files are just over 2 meg. A power tools converted jpg file is about 50% larger so I presume the conversion is lossless.
