Since the Adobe Camera Raw plug-in does not recognize RAW files from the Canon Digital Rebel, I modified the plug-in. Such modifications have been reported elsewhere for other cameras, but I couldn’t find one for the Digital Rebel.

The solution is to replace the Canon EOS D60 entry with the identifier from the EXIF header. In this case that is "Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL"

The file to be modified is "Camera Raw.8bi" which on Windows 98SE is located in the installation directory

Pshop install directory ..\plug-ins\Adobe Photoshop Only\File Formats\

I suggest you make a copy of the Camera Raw.8bi file and modify the copy. Search for D60 with a hex editor. Modify this entry so that it reads Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL (be sure to end the entry with a HEX 00 (0x00). Save the file.

Photoshop should now recognize Canon Digital Rebel RAW files. Seems to work fine for me. Use at your own risk.

If this has been reported elsewhere, sorry that I wasted the bandwidth.
