Color Actions in Action Set?

Using Photoshop CS.

I thought I could give colors to the actions in the action palette. But every time I assign a color it remains white.

You need to turn Action on with the BUTTON MODE. When you have the actions pallet open look for the small arrow with a circle around it. Click on that Icon and look down at the second or third entry for BUTTON MODE. Click that and you will have your colors.
