Performing an action on a folder or a set of files

Is it possible to perform an action on a set of files.

For example, if I wanted to resize all images in a folder and simply set their width to 50 pixels, with resolution 72 and proportions constrained checked and then save under either the same name or other, can I do this with one operation?

yes. create the action then run it in file> automate> batch.

see ‘batch’ in the manual or help file for details.
