My daughter has an oversized school project that needs to be printed both sides. I was planning on printing it on my Epson Stylus Photo 2000p, the earlier version of the 2200. Her project will fit on Epson’s Watercolor Paper, radiant white, which is 13 x 19. Epson’s instructions say to only print one side on the Watercolor paper. The "brighter" side seems a bit smoother than the back, but both seem fine for printing. Has anyone tried this?
I need to know ASAP!
The printable side is coated and accepts the inks well, the other side is not coated and the inks will bleed in too much, leaving you with a very poor image. I haven’t printed on the wrong side of this paper but I have printed (by mistake) on the back side of the Velvet – Fine Art and it’s not pretty.
There are some very good double sided papers with similar characteristics to Watercolor – Radiant White. Two I often use and recommend would be Moab Entrada Brilliant White or Hahnemuehle Photo Rag double. You can print on both sides of these. The Entrada is not too pricey, both the heavier 300 gsm version and the lighter 190 gsm version is about $2 per 13×19" sheet (

The 300 works fine in an Epson 2200 or 4000 printer so should be fine for the 2000p (check the User’s Manual to see if papers this thick/heavy are allowed … if not, the 190 gsm will definitely work since it’s similar to Watercolor – RW).
Hahey is more expensive … geez, I just saw it was $8 per sheet for 13×19" in the 316 gsm double sided so forget that one for a student art project 🙂 (I’ve been using the 17×22" 316 gsm dbl but must have bought it on sale)
