Photoshop V4 – out of Memory? with 1GB Ram

Ever since I upgraded my computer to have 1GB of ram I get error messages when I try to open photoshop.

I tells me that I don’t have enough RAM to run the program – which I know is a load of shit!

Any ideas?

Have you defraged your drive? Check on the size of your pagefile. You man make sure Windows is managing it.

What version of Windows are you running?

Try reducing the paging file to less than 500MB. It may stop your computer from working properly, though.

Have you tried trashing Photoshops preferences yet? You said it tells you it doesn’t have enough RAM, did it say ‘RAM’ or ‘memory’, if it said memory then check your scratch disk settings and make sure you have enough hard drive space free.

You need version 4.01 and to set the Windows swap to Min 256 and Max 1536.

You need version 4.01 and to set the Windows swap to Min 256 and Max 1536.
