Merging JPEGs?

I want to take two JPEGs and merge them into one for desktop wallpaper. I only have limited knowledge of Photoshop. All I want to do is combine the two JPEGs into one larger JPEG and set it as wallpaper. Please help. Thanks!!

Create a canvas that will fit the size of both images. Make sure to rename the layer from Background in your images to a name (alt double click will do).

Drag image one onto image two. Use the move tool to move it around after placement.
