Could someone tell me how to magnify a small area of a pic to work on ?
Also, if possible how to match skintones if trying to put one head on another body (something I am doing of friends for a mates birthday !)
In PSvX, you can select the Magnify (magnifying glass icon) and click-drag it over the area you wish to magnify. In the Options area (differs in versions of PS as to location and actual working, so you may even have to go to Edit>Preferences to check) "Resize Windows to Fit" so that the magnified view will create a larger window. If "Resize… " or its equivilent is not checked, the magnifying action will work, though the window size will be equal to whatever you had to begin with, only the area shown will be small (within the area of the image), just magnified. (Not sure that what I just typed will make sense, until you see if for yourself).
As to skin-tone, if you are on PS CS, then Match Colo(u)r is a good starting point. Once you have created the image, application of Filter>Noise>Add Noise (in a small dose) will help to create the appearance, that the "texture" of the image composite is uniform. If it’s too much, upon application, just immediately go to Edit>Fade>Add Noise, and experiment with the amount of Fade.
Hope this helps,
