I’m creating an application that needs to take fabric on an item and overlay an new fabric keeping the highlights and shadows of the photographed item covered in said fabric.
The overlay tool for the new fabric would work except the photographed item I have, already has a fabric with a design on it. The overlay just shows the design through and you get a blend of both. How do I make the old fabric a solid color keeping the highlights and shadows so that the overlay of the new fabric looks correct? What should the old fabric color be for the best results? Gray? White?
