Whatever I do my text size is stuck at a maximum of 17.96 pixels. Does anyone know how to fix this please?

Try resetting the character in the character palette, icon to right of warp text icon on options bar. Click on it to open it and then on the down pointing arrow at top right. Last option on list should be "reset character"
