Technical info:
– Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (build 2600)
– 2.80 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4
– 168.80 Gigabytes Hard Drive Free Space
– 1.99 GB of RAM
– Intel 82865G Graphics Controller
– Photoshop CS3
– Bridge CS3
I installed Photoshop CS3 about ten days ago.
Issues: (Intermittently)
– Cannot open files from Bridge directly to Photoshop
– Cannot open files from ACR to Photoshop
– Cannot open files via File>Open Recent
– Cannot expand palettes
– Cannot scroll through blend modes in layers palette
– Exiting Photoshop and Bridge and reopening the applications does not solve problems – Restarting computer does not solve problems
Error messages when opening Photoshop:
– "could not load the FastCore Routines module because it does not work with this version of Photoshop"
– "could not load MMX Core Routines module because it does not work with this version of Photoshop"
Having Googled the first error message, I understand the problem occurred because I copied my plug-ins from CS2 to CS3. I reinstalled CS3, but still get the error message. (I copied the plug-ins this weekend.) Re this error message: I would appreciate it if someone could tell me what plug-ins ship with Photoshop CS3, and I will remove the other ones and load them correctly (rather than copying and pasting).
The second error message appeared today for the first time. I do not know if the error messages have anything to do with the problems I have been experiencing.
While composing this message, I had Photoshop running. I just went back to it, and found that the issues I was experiencing earlier tonight seem to have mysteriously rectified themselves. However, since they come back just as mysteriously, I would like to fix the problem(s).
Any insight or advice you could provide would be most appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
Heather
