Photoshop CS2 Starting Problem

Using Windows XP as the operating system, the new Photoshop CS2 gives the following message when started. If ignored the program appears to work as designed.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Adobe Photoshop: Photoshop.exe – Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point ?InitJP2K
could not be located in the dynamic link library JP2KLib.dll
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

What causes this problem and how can I eliminate it?

Horst,

I would try an uninstall/re-install after deleting your prefs file as per the details in the forum FAQs

Did you try to copy plugins from CS over to CS2? It sounds like you copied some of the Adobe plugins that you shouldn’t have.

Chris,

That is exactly what happened to me. Dave Milbut suggested to put all plugins in a seperate folder instead of the CS plugins folder. This solved my problem with CS2 opening with errors like this poster got.

This solved my problem with CS2 opening with errors like this poster got.

and as an added benifit, it’ll stay solved when they release cs3 and you won’t have to reinstall any 3rd party plugs! 🙂
