Printing a PDF created with Photoshop Problems

Hi, I’m having problems with printing pdf’s created from photoshop documents – when I print them to the printer only the images appear – the text doesn’t, or if it does its all patchy. The only way i can get around this is to flatten the image and print to a high res pdf – any ideas?
