It would look like you wish to use an animated GIF for this. Check HELP for this.

So let’s get this straight, you want to make an animation that makes it look like a little square is following the line across this image (like a spark perhaps?) Something like this?…

<http://www.pbase.com/image/32799716>

To make animations in PSE you need to have each stage of movement (or frame) a separate layer. Then you would Save for Web, saving as a GIF checking the animate box. See page 219 of the PSE manual for details.

You really don’t need a lot of frames/layers to create the illusion of movement (the more layers you have the bigger the file size). It’s a little fussy because you have to have the background in each frame, but when you are creating the squares you need to keep them on a transparent layer to make it easy to duplicate for the next frame. If you need more details let me know.

If you like, download and save the gif I made above and then open it in PSE. You will be able to see the layers.

ok, well I’ve made a couple like these:
<http://img34.exs.cx/img34/449/SecondAvatar.gif>
<http://img49.exs.cx/img49/7449/MusicNetworks-Signature.gif>

There animated, but there chopping and stuff. How do I make it so it looks good. Also I have that cricle on one but thats just a a really big pencil mark, I made a squeare but I couldn’t figure how to get it onto the picture with the line

What you have for the second animation would work just fine, just set the Frame Delay to 0 (zero) and it will look much smoother.

To make my little rectangle, I made it on a new transparent layer over the black backgrond with the lines and filled w/ white. I also applied a neon layer style and then simplified the layer. I duped this layer and using the Move tool (V) I nudged it over using the arrow keys on my keyboard. I continued duping and moving (angling it on one layer where it goes downhill) until I had it going across the picture (6 layers total). After I had all my layer-frames I went back and added the black background beneath each one and merged each square layer down. It’s a little fussy this way, but it’s much easier to edit, move and control the rectangle and be able to see what you are doing!

If you work your squares on separate transparent layers like this you can lower the opacity, use layer styles, or whatever, so you can see your line through them.
