I am still learning mac and am also just learning photoshop. I couldnt find a question similar to this one so im going to ask this.

is it possible to import a .gif file and layer it over another image? I imported the first image and resized it and everything, then made the new layer. Then i tried to import the .gif image as that second layer but it was grayed out. is there any way around that. Let me know if you need more information about this.

Try using File menu/Place to insert the GIF into a new Layer.

Yes it is possible. File>Place

If the .gif is still greyed out, then I don’t know what’s wrong.
