In my bottom layer, I have a gradient fill in gray color. On top of this layer, I have some paragraphs in blue color. I want the bottom layer has no effect whatoever on its upper layer. I really want to preserve upper layer’s color scheme. I tried all the blending modes and it did not work out.

How can I prevent a bottom layer spoil it’s above layer?

Thanks in advance.

Make the top layer opaque.

The whole idea of layers is that they DO blend.

Jae,

Put the top layer in "Color" blend mode. The top layer’s hue and the bottom layer’s luminosity will be preserved. That’s not exactly what you asked for but I’m guessing it’s what you meant to ask for.
