Try trashing both Applications’ folders and re-installing. Repair Permissions both before AND after doing the installations.

Have you added any new RAM recently? Just wondering, why do you have Elements on a computer that has Photoshop?

No matter the reason, you can still install both on your computer. Don’t know what hapens if you try to run them simultaneously.
