I just finished reinstalling my OS and all my apps. Photoshop CS2 has defaulted to some CYMK looking color settings and I do not know how to get it back to the way it has been for years. Windows is using the correct monitor drivers (Viewsonic A90f+), Adobe Gamma is loading, Photoshop’s color settings are the default ‘North America Web/Internet’ and ‘Proof Colors’ under the view menu is not checked.

Why would my colors be so far off – reds look orange.. they all seem to have a CYMK look to them.

One more side note.. if I set the ‘Proof Setup’ under the view menu to ‘Monitor RGB’ and ‘Proof Colors’ is checked, the reds in my document look the way they’re supposed to, but the Foreground Color red on my Tools palette is still the orange looking one. Also, when I ‘Save for Web’ the colors are all ther way they’re supposed to be in that Images Ready interface, as well as the saved product.

It’s quite annoying and any help would be appreciated. I thought I understood everything about the color settings but I’m clearly missing something here.

Thanks in advance,

Jim
