how much Video card?

I’m rebuilding and Old Power Computing (mac OS) for my niece to use in college.. not the fastest thing in the world but she’s just happy to have one so.. anyway.. how important is the video card? It has a 16 meg ATI Rage 128 in it.. how much would like a radeon 7000 do for her in Photoshop? Would i be better off getting a faster processor (could boost it to like a 400/G4 where now its a 300/G3) for about the same money?

Does photoshop need LOTs of video power like a game? or as long as it can display millions of colors on the 21" monitor it’s ok?

No, 3D games (and animation softwares) have the video card calculate the renders (more or less) in real time, there are no such renders in PS.
