Hello All

Anyone here used Spyder3 ? I have noticed there are different types, do they all use the same hardware?

Thanks.

All the consumer/prosumer calibrators work equally well or badly depending on your point of view.
All are capable of reasonably good color matching between monitor and print. None are capable of matching the insanely overbright LCD screen with what values should be in the print, rendering prints too dark unless you resort to complex workarounds.

If you buy with your very own money then I will agree with you 100%, for someone else’s information then I may disagree.

I’ve used the Spyder 2 Pro with Print Fix Pro. The profiles do give prints which are a bit darker than what the LCD Monitor shows.

With this version of Print Fix it is possible to go back and remake the profile, but increase the "Brightness" settings until the Test Print matches the screen.

Do remember you will never get a totally exact match because the Monitor is transmitted light and the Print is reflected.
