Unsupported colour dialog box

I’ve been sent 5 psd’s for a design. 3 out of 5 open, 2 bring up a stop dialog box with " Could not open "DIAMOND/HEADINGS.psd" because a color was specified using an unsupported color space ". I cannot open them in Photoshop 6.01, Illustrator 8 Or in freehand 10. WHAT IS WRONG????? PLEASE HELP.
