Can someone tell me step-by-step how to automate image resizing? Say I have images of equal proportion (3:4) but different sizes, and I want them all the same size… how would I go about automating this process? I’ve got 400+ images to resize.

You don’t say which version of Photoshop you are using, but in CS1, CS2 and CS3 you can use Fit Image.

Just create an action on a single image using the Fit Image option, then run that action on a folder of images to resize all the image the same.

Some version have different options. If your version has the Image Processor option, you can try that. Some versions allow you run actions from inside Bridge. This is useful if you don’t want to run the action on all the images in a folder

I use a set of my own scripts for batch resizing. These scripts were written for CS1 and CS2 but I think they work OK on CS3. Some of the scripts may not work in some versions on Vista.

Have fun.
