Is there a way to convert a green or blue channel to red? channels are so confusing…maybe someone could give me a brief on what the channels are exactly. 🙂 thanks

You can select all, copy and paste the contents of any channel into another or you can go to Image>Apply Image to put the content of one channel into another.

Channels are just grayscale images. The main channels contain information that makes a composite color image using the information in the individual channels, depending on the color mode. Check the web, for instance and read the excellent if dated Channel Chops: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1562057235/104 -2646367-4606327?vi=glance
