I have a number of photographs which I want to crop by various amounts but with the final image having a 10 x 8 ratio to be printed at 10" x 8".
The initial images are 3008px x 1960px so I have entered 2450px into the width text box and 1960 into the height text box. I can then drag to define the area to crop and I get an area in the approriate ratio.
My concern is about what happens if I do not drag using the full height of the image. If I start a drag part way down and stop before I reach the bottom I can still get an area marked out which is the correct ratio but what will happen to the quality of the image when it comes to be printed at 10" x 8"?
Will the quality of the print I get reduce as I use less of the height of the original?
I’m using Elements 1.
TIA.
