opening photos in elements

When ever I double click to open a photo the start screen for elements comes up but I still have to drag the photo into the screen or open the photo via file..open. Any suggestions on how to enable the double click option to open the program and open the photo in the program?

How about some platform and system information, Fred? This forum is for both Win and Mac users. Sometimes I can tell by the way a post is worded what kind of computer is being used, but not on yours. Sorry!
