Can you open it in 7, change the type layer and save? Then open in CS and see what you can do with the type?

I want to open a file created in Photoshop (PC) v.7 on my Mac Photoshop CS2 9.0 and am getting an error that ‘layer is not a valid text layer.’ What do I need to do to get the file to open
