Hi There!
I’m quite new to the Adobe Forums and quite frustrated :/
First off.. I’m using Adobe Photoshop 7.0 (until I get a possible student discount from art school for CS :), they give it on my photography equipment so I’m just guessing *and hoping* that they have it for software too) I’m currently on Win2000 OS but I do have an Apple G4 iBook with OSX on it as well (two seperate computers.) I’m currently working on the Windows comp though, and it’s not a very up to date computer besides the video card and harddrive. There’s all the technicals… now the question 🙂
I’ve heard there was a vectoring mask on 7.0 but I don’t know how to use it :/ But a lot of people I saw artwork of that have done vectoring did it manually with their mouse or with a tablet, don’t have a tablet so i’m gonna have to use my mouse. I would like to do it manually though.
So my question is how to vector a photograph. I have my image I want to use, have it cropped the way I want it and set to the right size etc… so my next step is vectoring. Side note though after I’m through with vectoring I going to cut & paste the image on a new canvas with a new background as a new layer (or should I do that first before vectoring? which would be the easiet?) I don’t want the background I’m going to paste it onto though to be vectored because I had already created it using various grundge brushes etc… The whole thing when finished I plan to import into After Effects to create a lil quicktime intro for the website I am creating. And I mean lil lol… cause I don’t have much webspace to play around with.
I hope that is specific enough. I’m just extremely frustrated. Not sure where to start :/ Any help would be much appreciated. If you would like I’ll stick a link to the photo I would like to vector and the background art for reference, just ask 🙂
Thanks and Take Care
