Converting .bmp to .jpg ???

I have some images that are in a .bmp file format. When I opened them in Photoshop 7.0 (for a PC, Windows 98 Operating System), there is no option to save/convert them to a .jpg file format when saving them. Any ideas? Thanks.

Are they in RGB format – flattened, 8-bit … I have loads of BMPs – and they can ALL be saved to JPG

Right. Flatten and convert to 8 bit mode. CMYK is fine though.

When I opened them
in Photoshop 7.0 (for a PC, Windows 98 Operating System), there is no option to save/convert them to a .jpg file format when saving them.

They are probably 16 bits per channel.

Either convert them to 8 bits, or use File->Save for Web to make your JPEGs.
