making a photo more "green"

Let’s say I have a photo of a "wilderness" area that doesn’t have much wilderness. I have some forestry areas, that are a lovely shade of green, but I have some open pasture areas area drab brown and a little magenta. This photo is an aerial photo of a project I’m working on, but the photo looks, in a word, "ugly". I want to make the desert/pasture areas more green, but I’m having a problem getting the desired effect.

I have tried levels, to try to make it the photo more green. I have tried curvers to try to make it more green.

Both techniques haven’t been able to do exactly what I’m looking for. Considering the photo is 400 megs and 1 foot pixels, it’s hard to work with, but i got a little time before deadline. The resolution of the photo is perfect for me.

Any ideas out there?

Convert the image to Lab mode, type ctrl-M, and invert the ends of the a curve.

you may prefer to work with selective color in the adjustment menu or select specific areas with a lasso feathered and then adjust each area separately (if you didn’t try that first)
