I’ve been designing websites for several years. At some point early on, I’d heard (from what I believed to be a reliable source) that website images should have a resolution of 72 dpi. So that’s what I’ve been doing.
Now, several tens of thousands of images later, I’m questioning that. Not really knowing a lot about this, it seems to me that as far as a browser is concerned, 500 pixels is 500 pixels, regardless of the resolution.
Am I wrong about this?
