Using Safari, I can see the images on your landing page but the links to the jpegs of the various individual events seem to be broken.
You might try using GoLive to check the html code for these.

Are you sure you loaded the pictures to the server. if you can see them it maybe because you are viewing them from your Hard drive.

Internet Explorer 5.1.7 also reports the links as being broken (Page not found).

Let me see if iCab gives me a detailed error report.

Well the forum software here messes up the html tags.

Basically, the Warning (1/1): is to the effect that [¡DOCTYPE] is missing. (substitute > for ] and < for [ ).

Error (12/6): The tag [FONT> is not part of "HTML 4.0 Strict". Error (22/4): The tag [CENTER> is not part of "HTML 4.0 Strict". Error (29/10): The start tag for can’t be found.
Error (30/1): The tag [CENTER> is not part of "HTML 4.0 Strict". Error (42/74): The tag [FONT> is not part of "HTML 4.0 Strict". Error (43/12): The tag [FONT> is not part of "HTML 4.0 Strict". Error (44/12): The tag [FONT> is not part of "HTML 4.0 Strict".

and so on …

Found the problem. If you look at this link:
< http://www.eventphotographyassociates.com/Frisco2004_files\i ndex.htm>

Change it to this:
< http://www.eventphotographyassociates.com/Frisco2004_files/i ndex.htm>

See the \ before index.htm? That should be a /

I don’t know what iCab is – but i just went to that page on a PC running Windows 2000 IE 5.5 and then another running Windows XP IE 6.0
and did not have a problem.

If I make that change Windows (IE) wont see it. These links were created by M/S Frontpage.

If I can click on < http://www.eventphotographyassociates.com/Frisco2004_files/i ndex.htm> then Windows will see it too, Code is code and what you have is BAD code. And Frontpage is the worst piece of cr*p on the planet.

Get a real html editor. There are even free ones that are better than that piece of disaster. Frontpage writes bad code and sticks a bunch of files that are not needed on the server.

I’m going to go to a winders machine and click on that link right now and I will bet I get there.

These links were created by M/S Frontpage.

A despicable piece of garbage masquerading as an application. As Buko said, no wonder you have problems.

There is not a single page on your site that is not heavily loaded with warnings and errors when you run an application checker such as iCab’s (a web browser) error generator.

The links are bad. Change that slash.

Apr 14, 2004
No they were not they were created with Adobe Photoshop 7…

I thought I could get an answer but it looks like M’Soft and PC bashing is the only answer that is being given. I used the hardware and software I have available and, was just looking for some help with the problem. Not a software eval (and the wrong software at that) I don’t think like going into each thumbnail and changing the HTML address code is a practical answer.

I realize that to you folks this may be a religious issue but to me it’s a technical problem.

jpgirg, You clearly stated that the links were created by MS Frontpage. These people have told you repeatedly what the problem is. Either accept their input, or go away.

I don’t think like going into each thumbnail and changing the HTML address code is a practical answer.

Do a find and replace in an html program.

It was made with Web Photo Gallery. Ive done a million (maybe not a million) of them using PS and I have never seen it make a link like that.

I realize that to you folks this may be a religious issue but to me it’s a technical problem.

And we answered the technical problem. Change the \ and your pages will work. What more can be said?

And BTW, you are the one that said you generated it in FrontPage. Quote: "If I make that change Windows (IE) wont see it. These links were created by M/S Frontpage". If you did, stop it. It is a lousy program. If you generated it in PS then I don’t know why it would have made the slash like that it never has for me.

It is bad code no matter how it got that way.

jpg – PS 7 doesn’t create bad links like that.

You had to edit it in something else to create bad links.

I suspect he created it with Web Gallery and then put his pages through FP…

I have had such bad experiences with FP. I won’t even take a customer who uses it unless they are willing to get rid of it.

I won’t even take a customer who uses it unless they are willing to get rid of it.

This has become common practice and just as well!
we also point blank refuse any MS publisher files, that simple.
