Hello

its time for us to get a new monitor.

what does everyone recommend? Lets keep it under 4 or 5 hundred bucks please.

Some people are telling me there are problems calibrating the LCDs. Is this true?

We’re also spoiled with the luxury of big 21" CRTs. I’m not even seeing these for sale anymore.

any help would be appreciated

I never look at anything in that price range, but I’d say take a look at ViewSonic maybe.

I’ve replied to this once, but misread your price range. Only monitor worth having in that price range is an Iiyama 19" or 22". And be quick as I believe, like a large number of CRT manufacturers, they are stopping making CRTs this summer.

This question has come up in the Adobe forums a few times recently. The answers are usually LaCie and NEC, in that order.

Find a used LeCie 22 III. Take a look on eBay. They don’t get any better. Make sure that the monitor calibration tool is included.

You should be able to find a good one for around $300 US.
