I recentely upgraded to Photoshop 7. After the installation, I now have Photoshop 6 and 7. Can I uninstall Photoshop 6?

Hi Frank,

Yes you can. However, to avoid problems in PS7, you should elect to NOT DELETE the common files with prompted. If you do have any problems with PS7 afterwards, a reinstall should resolve them.

If you have any 3rd-party plugins installed in PS6, don’t overlook that they too will need to be uninstalled and then reinstalled to PS7. While it often works to simply move them from the old to the new installation of Photoshop, some do not permit that. Also, you should avoid a simple copying of the PS6 plugins folder to that in PS7 due to creating conflicts with native Photoshop filters that have been revised for PS7.

Just make sure wehen it asks you about deleting shared files, that you say NO.
