Recently bought a Nikon Coolscan slide scanner which came with Elements
2.0… still learning the basics of scanning, curves etc (do we ever stop
learning?)- but really disappointed to discover that this version of Photoshop does not support editing files of higher than 8bit mode. The scanner is capable of 14bit so what are Nikon playing at? Editing at 8bit is surely no where near as clean as editing at 14bit?
Is there a plug-in to give me this capability or if it involves an upgrade – which is the first version to give me this option? (Colour mode seems to be notably absent from the detailed specifications of these products where they are on sale).
