This is a newsgroup devoted to Adobe Photoshop Elements. Are you using that program to do your copying and pasting? If so could you give a little more detail. Exactly what are you doing?

If you are not using Elements, then maybe you would be more likely to get good answers in a newsgroup devoted to the software you are using. If you are not using any specific software, then you would be using Windows of what ever version you are running on your computer and you should try checking the appropriate Windows newsgroup.
