I’m sure there are other ways, but the way I would do it is to zoom in until the eye is large enough to work with, then use the clone tool to pick up the color just below the white and clone over the white.

Nice shot incidentally.

I tried cloning, but couldn’t get there. Careful smudging seemed to do the trick.
