Of Error Msgs and Layer Updating

Of late, Photoshop has been prompting me to "update text layers ..for vector output" everytime I open a file. It doesn’t make a difference if I click No or Update because it’ll give me grief when I try to edit the Text with a pop-up "Could not complete your request due to program error" then it just shuts down on its own.

Anyone knows how to fix this kerfufle? Many thanks in advance!

You don’t mention what version you are using or whether these files were created in an earlier version.

The text engine and font handling keeps changing between versions.

Just to keep us on our toes I suppose!
