I hope its not my laptop cause i just bought 2 weeks ago at best buy.How do i update my drivers?yeah Its a blue screen but with a message that says i have to disable shadowing and caching. I also got an error at the begining of photoshop,it said something about a primary scratch on the same volume… something like that thanks
You probably can’t, on Vista — they’re still working on the first drafts. ; – )
If you can afford a new laptop though, you should probably be able to scare up enough for a software upgrade to a new version of PS or Elements that will work with Vista.
Thanks guys, this is the full message i get but ionly get it when i try to go to photoshop.
A problem has been detected and window has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
An attempt was made to execute a non-executable memory.
If this is the first time you’ve seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen apears again, follow these steps:
Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed, if this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacture for any new windows update you night need.
If problems contiinue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disale BIOS memory options, such as Caching or Shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to Advanced start up options, and then select safe mode.

first try the laptop manufacturer’s site. if they don’t have an update, you should find out what kind of video adapter is in the laptop and download updated drivers the THAT manufacturer’s site. (i.e. nvidia, ati, s3, etc.)
actually, first try turning down hardware acceleration. start> settings> control panel> display> advanced> troubleshooting. turn hardware acceleration all the way down. if that fixes it, it’s almost definitely a display driver problem.
I tried it but it says that my current display driver does not allow changes to be made to harware acceleration settings. Do you know how i can take taht off?
