What kind of routine maintenance do you run on your machine? What steps have you taken so far to try to fix it?

As a basic troubleshooting step, make a new account in your Mac and log-in as a different user. If the problem goes away, you know you have some preferences corrupted in your regular account. If it persists, you know that your system is messed up.

Corrective measures include: trashing your Photoshop preferences (always the first step); reinstalling the application; Repairing Permissions with Apple’s Disk Utility before and after installing any software; running DiskWarrior; doing an Archive and Install of the OS.

I’m not qualified to read crash logs, but I do suspect a faulty install or even hardware problems.

You are one version behind in your OS. 10.5.6 is out.

Do not update to 10.5.6 unless you have a backup of 10.5.5 or you can do the update on a different partition.

That we you can revert back if 10.5.6 breaks anything that is critical.

Try this go to your users preferences and trash this folder and file.

Then restart your computer, jut for the fun of it.
