photoshop always freezes

I’ve Recently got photo shop cs2 and when i try to use it, every time it lags/freezes up and all the little box. go white then it says sorry program not responding. and my computer has like 51gbs left and a total of 120gb so i know it cant be that and the thing is i can use image ready cs2 with no problem it only seems to be photo shop when i run it. if this help i am using a Compaq presairo computer about 1 year old thats it. help would really be appreciated.

make sure you have the update (9.02 available in the download area) and then see the faq section in this forum on how to delete photoshop’s prefrences.
