Photoshop/Illustrator freezes during opening of files from program directly.

I had the same problem and that esc key worked. oh man I was about to take my computer to a shop.

Oh man! I was having that same problem and I found this post. Photoshop and illustrator was freezing everytime I tried to open a file. That esc key worked for me. and to think I was actually getting ready to take my computer to a tech.
