We are running a G5 dual, with 6512 mb of memory. But when I try to make more memory available to PS, I get a message that only 3072 megs are available. How do I fix this?
Thanks!

You don’t fix it. That is all you get. The extra RAM is used for scratch – – so it is not wasted.

Can I use all of the 3072, leaving the rest to run the sustem, or do I have to leave system room in that allocation too.
Thanks

At the top of this forum is a link to optimizing performance in Photoshop < http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb 404440&sliceId=1%27>. There is a RAM section that may be enlightening. You could use 3072 MB if you are not starving other apps.

Idiots rule the world. Unfortunately, the smart people can’t seem to accept that fact and become the new ruler of the idiots.

It’s a viscous cycle of truth.
