Hi all.

is there anyways to set the background colour to grey as I see on maximum screen mode on a standard window mode?

The stark black background is very hard on my eyes and I do not want to fill the screen with the file.

Right click (or Option Click) on the black background and you get a menu which provides the options of Black, Gray, or Custom Color.

Or change them in preferences.

I just tried doing that but nothing happens.
Is there something in a Preference setting? I have searched there already but nothing turned up.

So, nothing under the Preferences Menu I take it?

Duh! I’m sorry, Nobuko. Control Click. It is a contextual menu. I had a stupid moment and am so used to right clicking that I typed the wrong hint.

The preferences are only in CS4. Otherwise it’s shift-click to fill, or use the context menu.

The shift-click is to fill the layer. Not the screen background.

But the thanks for the short cut key command for *fill*. 🙂

No, shift-click on the background is to fill the background — that’s been there a long, long time.
