Adobe Updater quits every time I open Photoshop CS 3

When I open up Photoshop, it opens up OK. Then I get a message that the "Adobe Updater has quit unexpectedly." I click "ignore" and I try opening it up again by going to Help – Updates. The same box come up.

What can I do to fix this problem?

I am running Leopard and Photoshop CS 3 Extended Edition.

You’re probably already fully up-to-date.

I suggest turning off any preferences that want to check and apply updates automatically. If you’re out and about online with any kind of regularity, you should become aware when any new updates come out. Just download and apply them manually.

Let the Windows users keep that auto-update stuff turned on for their thrice weekly anti-virus/anti-spyware/anti-skunk-in-the-pants workflow killing needs
